About me

Since 2006, I have worked for the Brazilian government (at CGU) as a solutions engineer focused on networks and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. From 2018 to 2022 I lived in Boulder, CO, USA, where I earned a Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Networks Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, both of which I earned from Universidade de Brasília in 2004 and 2016 respectively.

Research Statement

I believe that no single technology is capable of meeting the performance, functionality, and efficiency that modern applications and networks need. My research is focused on building synergies among different packet processing environments, i.e., user space, kernel, and programmable hardware. So, I break down network application processing needs and by characterizing the processing features provided by each technology, I build new systems that often break the boundaries between different technologies, allowing the building of optimal packet processing environments that can meet countless requirements of modern networks.
